Editorial standards

Our aim is useful, original reporting that readers can check. These standards guide what we publish and how we update it.

Start with the evidence

We prioritize datasets, research papers, regulatory filings and other primary documents. Trade reporting helps us identify developments, and we credit it when we rely on it. Company statements are attributed as company claims, not presented as independent verification.

Make the limits clear

We distinguish observed results from estimates, forecasts and plans. Numbers need units, time periods, geography and relevant assumptions. We explain uncertainty and material conflicting evidence instead of treating missing information as confirmation.

Report original work

Our stories use an original angle and structure. We attribute outside reporting and link to the documents supporting material claims. We do not republish competitors' articles or use media without permission or an appropriate license.

Review before release

Research and writing are followed by separate evidence, fact, adversarial, standards, copy and senior-editor checks. A final check covers the actual publishing payload. An article with unresolved material issues is held.

Be open about AI

PVweekly.com uses AI-assisted research, drafting and editorial review. Separate review steps can reduce errors, but model agreement is not evidence and does not make a claim true. We ground factual claims in linked sources and remain responsible for what we publish.

Correct the record

Material corrections should be dated and described in the article. We preserve the original publication date and distinguish a correction from a later development. Sources and methods should remain understandable after an update.

Identify commercial material

Any sponsored content, affiliate relationship or relevant commercial interest must be clearly identified. Commercial relationships must not be presented as independent editorial judgment.
